Heat pumps have advanced greatly in the past several years and are becoming an excellent choice for cold climate areas like Massachusetts.

Heat pumps are energy efficient and double as a cooling system in the summer months. This makes them a great option for year-round climate control. Many people see significant savings after having heat pumps installed in their homes. Heat pumps are powered by electricity with no in-home fuel storage or carbon emissions.

We install two types of heat pumps in our customers’ homes – Air source heat pumps (commonly referred to as mini-splits) and air to water heat pumps. Air source heat pumps, or mini-splits, extract heat from the air outside and distribute it inside during the winter. During warmer months, this process is reversed to provide cooling. Air to water heat pumps use the same concept as an air source heat pump for drawing out heat from the outdoor air. The difference is it delivers the heat via water piped throughout the home (rather than hot air).

Heat Pump Benefits:

  • One system for both heating and cooling
  • Energy-efficient
  • Can lower your heating and cooling costs year-round
  • Zone-friendly – Heat pumps can heat or cool only the rooms you choose
  • Heat pumps do not use fuel, so you are never in danger of running out
  • Lowers greenhouse gas emissions
